A personal note from Laura:

I live in Dallas, Texas with my husband and son and practice Family Medicine in the suburb of Plano. I enjoy my small practice, we have 2 physicians and see a variety of routine and urgent care. I have helped with the medical team at RunDisney events for the past 4 years and have been coming to Kona for the medical conference and helping with the medical tent at the Ironman World Championship for the past 5 years . I have been involved in athletic competition for over 30 years. I competed in triathlons, masters swimming and running during 80’s and 90’s. I took a break with medical school and then started back running about 10 years ago.

The past few years have been mostly running, I have been running marathons and a few ultras. I kept saying I needed a sign to get back on my bike. Winning the Ironman Medical Conference race slot has been that sign and is a dream come true for me to compete in the Ironman.
